Maranta leuconeura - Red Prayer Plant 4"

Care Instructions:

The low-growing marantas used as houseplants are popularly called "prayer plants" because they tend to fold their leaves together at night.

Light: Marantas should be grown in medium light. Strong sunshine makes the leaves fade and develop dry, brown edges.
Water: Water plentifully, as much as necessary to keep the potting mix thoroughly moist, in the active growth period. During the winter rest period water sparingly, allowing the top half of the potting mix to dry out between waterings.
Humidity: An ideal year-long temperature is 65°-70°F. Whenever the temperature climbs much above 65°, increase the level of humidity by standing the plants on trays of moist pebbles and mist-spray them. Marantas will not thrive in temperatures below 55°.

Size: 4"

*Comes in a 4" grow pot, not the planter shown.*
